
Serves 2 persons
Cooking time: 55 minutes
- Heat oven to 180°C/160°C Fan/350°F/gas 4.
- Place potatoes in a pot with enough cold water to cover them and bring to boil.
- Turn down heat and simmer gently until potatoes are soft.
- Drain the water. Add milk, butter and mash well. Set aside for later.
- Melt half the butter in a pan on medium heat.
- Add onions, celery, carrots and garlic and cook for 5 minutes until soft.
- Increase heat to high and add minced beef, stirring until well browned.
- Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Add the chicken stock, tomato puree, Worcestershire sauce, and peas.
- Bring to the boil then reduce heat and simmer for 5 - 7 minutes.
- Place mince mixture into ovenproof dish and top with mashed potato.
- Bake for about 30 minutes until golden on top.
